From preface by Clemente Tafuri and David Beronio:
Fersen throughout his life has investigated ontological themes in the light of Greek wisdom, using the tools that the most diverse fields of investigation offered him, and sensing that theater could have represented an opportunity to restore that awareness of oneself and of the world on which that same wisdom speaks to us. The theater, in this project, had to become a living and necessary experience for his time. Fersen’s activity as a theorist and researcher which critics, with few exceptions, have placed in the background if not ignored, represents the most vital part of his career. Not only for the intrinsic value of some discoveries but because these discoveries, or in any case the focus of certain issues, were made by an artist who radically posed the ultimate problems of his art.
